Pù Luông - the land of mountains, pristine streams cascading from the mountaintops, and a place where lush forests have provided shelter for thousands of years, is undoubtedly one of the most diverse and unmissable destinations.
Man Kháu -
On the Flow of Water
Following up the MAN KHAU exhibition by Magnolia (with supported from Youth4Climate Initiative by UNDP and the Italian’s Ministry of Environment and Energy Security), the concept tour “Man Khau” describe the journey of water in Pu Luong through community experiences, emphasizing the value of natural water in the area.
Man Khau is the name registered by Magnolia, means “pregnant rice” in local Thai language, also means an important phase for the rice, main ration of Thai people when “water” plays a crucial role: it’s when the seed begins to form inside the plant, making it “pregnancy” larger.
During the trip, travelers visit Pu Luong Nature Reserve with the most famous cave Hang Doi Kho Muong, represents the beginning of the stream. At Don Village lying in the upstream, travelers have the chance to connect deeply with the wet rice culture in the area. Finally, in the downstream, visit and learn about how Thai people bring clean water to their home and rice field through water wheel system.


Community Experience In Don Village
Being the largest Thai ethnic village within the Pù Luông Nature Reserve, Đôn village comprises 162 households nestled amidst the picturesque mountainous landscape.
Starting from your hotel, our local tour guide will lead you on a trek through magnificent terrace fields and beautiful rice paddies, deep into Đôn village. Along the way, you’ll meet residents, learn about daily life, and capture beautiful moments in one of Pù Luông’s most scenic landscapes.
Your key stop will be at Mrs. Lọng’s house, where the journey turns into a warm, hands-on introduction to local cuisine. Here you’ll discover the quintessence of rice in Thai culture - tasting “rượu gạo” (traditional rice wine) and enjoying “cơm lam”, fragrant sticky rice cooked inside bamboo tubes, prepared with the family in their home setting. Mrs. Lọng is also one of the local households benefiting from Magnolia’s Youth4Climate project, where we work with the community to strengthen sustainable livelihoods and celebrate rice and water heritage through community-led tourism.
Continuing the journey, you'll visit a family specializing in traditional weaving techniques, gaining insight into the art of ”thread-picking," used to create patterns on scarves or traditional Thai women’s belts.
The Land Of Water And Mountain - 3 days 2 nights
A 3 day 2 night journey here promises unique and diverse experiences, not to mention savoring the local specialty: Duck of Cổ Lũng.
From Hanoi, after a 4-hour journey, you arrive at Pù Luông Natura, surrounded by terraced fields, featuring an infinity pool where you can gaze at the mountain peaks and villages below.
Without traveling far, in the afternoon of the arrival day, Đôn and Bầm villages welcome you for a walk among the magnificent terrace fields, exploring the culture and life of the Thai people. On the second day, our guide will take you deeper into the forest on a trek to Kho Mường village, renowned for its biggest cave of the area where the pristine environment reminisces of prehistoric times.
